From April 15 to April 19, 2019 research seminars were held by Kampuss Kaspars, Doctor of agricultural sciences, Associate professor at the faculty of agriculture, Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
The lectures were held within the framework of the agreement on bilateral cooperation between St. Petersburg State Agrarian University and Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies under the Erasmus + academic mobility program.
During the week at several seminars Professor Kampuss Kaspars told students of horticulture and processing technologies department of St. Petersburg State Agrarian University about the peculiarities of fruit-growing and berry-growing in Latvia, and he also presented the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies to the students and told about cultural identity and traditions of the Latvian Republic.
The following topics were covered at lessons: current state and prospects for the development of berries in Latvia, biological features and technologies of cultivation of berry crops: garden strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, honeysuckle, sea buckthorn, chokeberry, lemongrass, actinidia, cranberries, lingonberries, biological features and the technologies of cultivation of red, black, golden currant.
