The delegation of the State University of Applied Sciences (PWSZ) in Elbląg (Poland) headed by its rector, professor Zbigniew Walczyk visited Saint-Petersburg State Agrarian University on May, 23, 2018.
There was a meeting of the Saint-Petersburg State Agrarian University’s top management Tufanov Alexandre Olegovich, prorector on educational work and Evdokimov Konstantin Vladimirivich, prorector on strategic development and project activities and the representatives of the State University of Applied Sciences in Elbląg (Poland), rector, professor Zbigniew Walczyk and Jaroslaw Niedojadlo, the director of technological institute.
Professor Zbigniew Walczyk told that the State University of Applied Sciences in Elbląg is a young higher education institution, but at the same time one of the oldest and biggest ones among the 35 state universities of applied sciences founded in Poland. The PWSZ in Elbląg was established on July 1, 1998. The higher educational institution realizes more than 20 directions and actively cooperates with the leading Polish companies and factories where students have semi-annual practice and acquire practical skills and work experience in production.
Tufanov Alexandre Olegovich, prorector on educational work, presents Saint-Petersburg State Agrarian University’s and told about its history, achievements and successes. He spoke about the possibilities of the main university and its Kaliningrad branch in the field of educational programs and scientific research.
Then the perspectives of interaction and cooperation in realizing educational programs, international students and professors’ academic mobility, possibilities of mutual scientific publications and participation in conferences were discussed. The parties agreed on the organization and conduction of summer schools in Polish and Russian universities that will promote friendship between the students of two universities and the development of bilateral connections.
As a result of meeting and negotiations the text of bilateral agreement was prepared and it will be signed soon.
After the meeting the Polish delegation was shown the new building of Saint-Petersburg State Agrarian University, where guests saw the possibilities of the educational-material and research base of the university.
Also guests had the opportunity to see the sights of Pushkin, the Catherine Palace and the park complex.
