Successes of preparatory department for foreign citizen students

In June, 2020, on the eve of the Day of the Russian Language and the birthday of A. S. Pushkin, several students of preparatory department for foreign citizens of our university took part in the First Croatian International Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language.

The competition was organized by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Croatia, the Croatian Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers and the Pushkin Institute Center in Pula, Croatia.

At the first stage, after watching the film "Big", participants had to write an essay on one of the given topics: "What does ballet mean for Russia?", "Go to your dream" and "Legend of Russian ballet".

16 participants from Laos, Lebanon, Lithuania, Tajikistan, Montenegro and Croatia tool part in the finals. In the oral part, all finalists demonstrated excellent knowledge of the Russian language. In the finals Saint-Petersburg State Agrarian University was represented by Assil Atrash and Mohammad Zaiter, students from Lebanon.

The organizers thanked the participants for their interest in the Russian language and culture. Irena Mikulatco, Doctor of Philology, urged the participants to follow their dream, as the ballerina from the movie "Big", who always tries to go their right way.

As a result, Assil Atrash took the honorable first place, and Mohammad Zaiter took the second place.
